FOMF President’s Message – Russ Williams

Good day all, this has been an interesting year, the loss of FS personnel full time at Multnomah Falls being our biggest challenge, a change in officers and board members, some new and former board members joining the board all with the same goal of giving visitors at Multnomah Falls a pleasurable, fun and hopefully educational experience as they visit the Crown Jewel of Oregon. As you all know this year is the Lodge Centennial year with a Centennial party planned in September, I doubt that Simon Benson could have imagined that our site would be the first most visited Natural Wonder in Oregon when he built the Lodge and bridge so many years ago. As a group we have been, I think, instrumental in the visitor’s positive experience and that comes from all of our members commitment and dedication to our group and Multnomah Falls.

With very few exceptions, ice storms usually, you folks have been at the Falls; rain, sleet, snow or sunshine. You have come out with a smile and a willingness to do whatever is needed. I am really excited that we have gotten several new members in the past few months, you will add to our efforts to make a visit to Multnomah Falls a lifetime memory.

With all of this said I want to express my profound gratitude to all of you and I hope FOMF will still be at Multnomah Falls in another 100 years. Stay Safe.
